Vezha Diary #102: Process-based log discovery and better container classification

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Series: “Vezha story week by week” • Issue dated 05/11/2026

In #102, we strengthened the web telemetry foundation: Vezha now detects access logs more accurately in non-standard setups and classifies container web roles more reliably.

Key updates

  • Process-based nginx/apache log discovery via /proc/<pid>/fd.
  • Support for custom log paths outside default directories.
  • WordPress/Bitrix image classification (with fpm variants excluded).
  • More stable always-on detection so UI capability flags stay correct.

Why this helps

Fewer missed web log sources in production, less manual path tuning, and faster diagnostics right after server onboarding.

How to use it

After agent update, verify Web Stats/Stream Web on hosts with custom nginx/apache layouts or containerized WordPress. In most cases, sources are discovered automatically.

Next, we will continue improving fast context delivery for incident triage.
