Working with processes, favorites and watches

When to use

Page is required to monitor server processes in real time and focus on business critical processes.

What to prepare

  • Server with license level 720+.
  • Understanding which processes are important to SLO/availability.

Steps of work

  1. Open Processes and wait for the live stream.
  2. Switch between flat/tree view.
  3. Filter the list by name, exe, user or cmdline.
  4. View CPU, RSS, I/O and PID specific details.
  5. Add process to favorites (pattern + display name).

Why favorites

  • Favorites stabilize monitoring even when PID changes.
  • Favorites are automatically available in the alert rules constructor as separate process groups of metrics.

What to check

  • Favorites appear in the list and experience stream updates.
  • The required favorite is available when creating an alert.
